Tuesday Evening Rides from Epic Cycles Hendersonville - all summer!
Starting April 30th, every Tuesday evening until the end of August, Epic Cycles and BRBC will be hosting two ride options:
- Option one will be a fun, social ride for riders looking for a new group to ride with, as well as some support on navigating the roads in Hendersonville. This ride is for new riders, riders with a new bike, or longtime riders looking for a relaxing fun ride in the evenings. This fun, social route will be an out and back route with a few hills as possible in Hendersonville. Riders can ride as far as their pace will allow them to complete the ride before sunset. At least one ride leader will ride as sweep to ensure no one is stranded on the route. The total distance on the route is almost 19 miles but you can easily start out with a shorter distance and work your way up each week. We have all summer!
- The second ride option is for more experienced riders. This ride is a 20.3 mile loop with 1670 ft elevation - ride out Kanuga Lake Rd to Evans Rd and back in Hebron Rd. This ride will not have a designated ride leader, but these roads are likely to be familiar to most of you. And after a few weeks, the route will be familiar to everyone!

RIDE DATE AND TIME: Starting April 30, Tuesdays, 6:00 PM Wheels Rolling - arrive by 5:30PM for preliminaries and socializing.

PARKING CONSIDERATIONS: Park at Epic Cycles.
HYDRATION, NOURISHMENT AND AVAILABILITY OF RESTROOMS: Epic Cycles will provide pre-ride snacks, water and restrooms.
EQUIPMENT: Helmets and water bottles are mandatory. For ride option 2, have the route on your bike computer, phone, or printed cue sheet. Front facing headlights and rear blinking lights are highly recommended for this ride and required on the Blue Ridge Parkway unless appropriate reflectors are attached. Your bike must be equipped with the necessary lights or reflectors in accordance with applicable North Carolina and federal law and statutes governing bicycles. You should be fully self-sufficient for repair of flat tires or small mechanical issues.
NOTE: All rides leave promptly at the time stated. Give yourself enough time (at least thirty minutes) to get your bike unloaded, all geared up and for social time!
WEATHER: Please remember if the weather looks "iffy" or gets bad before the start date and time, we may not ride or at least cut the ride short. We will not send out a cancellation email or reschedule. We'll just try again the following Tuesday. Western NC is a very large area and some places could be sunshine and other places bad weather.
