A B pace ride that generally sticks together or has a couple smaller groups based on riding speed. We travel the back scenic roads to Hendersonville. We do climb Evans road over through the Kanuga area.
We return to Mills River via Davis Mountain.
This is a generous Metric Century, 64.8mi, 4200‘. From Etowah Park, we‘ll ride a big clockwise loop over Terrys Gap, through apple orchards to Flat Rock, and return via Kanuga Lake Rd. Terry‘s Gap is the largest climb on this route.

Route climbs the hills to Marshall and returns along the river. Sponsored by the Weaverville Climbing Snails. Pace will be 11-ish overall average. Slower on climbs faster on the flats
Pisgah Ranger Station
Back center parking lot
This is an estimated 28 mile 3100’ vertical NO DROP, casual pace Gravel ride, starting from Pisgah Ranger Station, going up Joel Branch Rd to FS 475C, down to the Fish Hatchery, then climb FS 475B (Headwater Rd), turn left 276 for 1/2 mile then rt onto Avery Creek Rd, return to Ranger Station. The group will stop at all significant intersections.

This ride may include Spencer Gap, Upper, Middle and Lower Spencer Branch trails with a couple water crossings. We‘ll regroup at all intersections. Plan on 2 hours of ride (moving) time.
No-Drop 36 mile ride along the French Broad River Valley. 10am start from Silvermont.
This is the typical reverse Jack‘s Creek ride with a spicy little climb up N. Bee Branch Road. The view from the top makes it worth the effort.

13.7 mile 1770’ NO DROP MTB Ride, starting from Guion Farms Parking Lot. We will hit some of the best descents in DuPont, trying for a “spirited” pace. We will regroup at all major intersections.
Route: From Guion, take Sky Valley to Frank St about 2.2 miles. L onto Switchback Trail, R onto Rocky Ridge, take Rifle trail to Guion trail, L Boundry trail, R Hickory Mt Road, R Hickory Mt trail, R onto Ridgeline trail (8 miles at this point), L onto Lake Imaging Rd, L onto Jim Branch, R onto Isaac Heath, R Locust trail, onto Hilltop Trail, R onto Lake Imaging Rd, L onto Buck Forest Rd, R Thomas Cemetery Rd, R Buck Forest Rd to parking lot

In keeping with BRBC birthday tradition, this ride is 58 miles for my 58th birthday. Because rain is forecasted for Saturday (my actual birthday) and high winds for Sunday, I‘ll celebrate on Monday.

This is an INTERMEDIATE LEVEL RIDE and features trails used in the Green River Games Enduro Race, stages 1 & 3. Plan on 9 miles with 1800 feet of elevation gain and 2 hours of ride (moving) time. We will regroup at intersections.

Fish Hatchery Parking Lot
This is a NO DROP casual pace intermediate mtb ride. Faster riders can go ahead, BUT this is a group ride and we will wait for everyone at significant intersections.
Starting from the Fish Hatchery, we’ll climb up 475B and take Cove Creek Rd to Cove Creek trail, then Lanning Ridge Rd to Lower Daniel Ridge, Rt onto Lanning Ridge, Rt onto Davidson River Rd, Left onto Searcy Rd, to Long Branch Rd, then onto Butter Gap trail and Cat Gap trail into the Fish Hatchery parking lot.
This month‘s century will start Oskar Blues in Brevard. We‘ll preview the 2024 Flyer Century route.
Leaving from Oscar Blues Brewery in Brevard. We ride past Cedar Mountain Outpost and Little River Church. We ride along Dupont Forest and do a 14 mile out-n-back to the YMCA Camp Greenville. A beautiful descent, following the Toe River. The 40 mile option turns right to climb up along Jack‘s Creek, while the 50 miler continues on an out and back, stopping at the convenience store at Red Hill. Temps should range from the mid to upper 60‘s, with light winds at about 5 mph.

This is an easy pace recovery ride.
If some riders wish to ride faster, you can form your own group.
This ride is for all level riders.
We will have several groups based on desired ride speed.
This ride is in our library but I have not done it before. These are all roads we have ridden.
We do turn around at the end of Talley.
This ride originally started at MR park. So mileage will be slightly less 4-5 miles from the brewery.

City of Brevard Sports Complex on Ecusta Road
The ride will include Stony Knob trail. We will regroup periodically. Plan on 21 miles, 2200 feet of elevation gain and about 2.5 hours of ride (moving) time.

Bruce will lead "B". Brenda will lead "C". Shelley H-M will ride sweep for descents. It‘s a climb at 110‘/mile.

New ride link sent in email. Starting at the parking lot at Craven Street and Emma Road, this is a beautiful ride to Marshall. The first mile or two on Emma road is a little busy, but after that on mostly quiet country roads. We no longer return via Riverside Dr.

This will be a No Drop, Casual Pace INTERMEDIATE MTB ride starting from the Corn Mill Shoals Parking Lot 13.3 miles with 1800’.
Sunday ride, 26 or 43 miles, 11am start. AOTC Training ride- From Cedar Mountain Outpost, a club favorite for after-ride socializing! This ride heads down Caesar‘s Head, loops around Pumpkintown, then heads back up the 6.5 mile climb.

The final AOTC training ride- this week we‘ll ride the starting miles of the AOTC from Brevard to Holly Springs. Looking for something shorter than 56 miles? Turn around at Rocky Bottom (mile 20) for a 40-mile ride. The ride leader will be going 56 miles, so after you turn around you will be on your own.
Staring from North end of Weaverville riding on the west side of I-26 through beautiful back country roads with some fun climbing. I will be leading from the middle once we start climbing. It is expected to be a beautiful day for a ride. Wear your shorts!
