Cyclocross Returns to Hendersonville on December 9 and 10
The North Carolina Cyclocross Grand Prix will be held in Jackson Park in Hendersonville on Saturday and Sunday, December 9 and 10.
What makes cyclocross such a unique and challenging sport is that the course includes obstacles that force riders to dismount and run while carrying their bikes. The Jackson Park course is on a mix of paved and off-road surfaces over flat-to-rolling terrain with one very steep but short and possibly muddy climb. It's this combination of cycling, stunt riding, carrying, running and scrambling over obstacles that makes cyclocross so exciting, such a phenomenal workout and so much fun for riders and spectators!
Blue Ridge Bicycle Club has done such a good job for the last four years that the organizers are asking if we can help again this year by providing up to ten (10) crossing marshals during the UCI Women’s and Men’s elite races on both Saturday and Sunday. While final times for these races have not been determined they are usually run from about 1 PM until 3 PM.
If you can help on either day or both days then please call me at (828) 243-6732, or email me at email@example.com.
Even if you can't help with marshaling, come out to watch the races that start at 8:30 AM and run all day. You won't be disappointed! A schedule of the day’s events will be posted as race times are finalized.
